We had previously used the service at Stansted where everything was first class. We booked again on that basis and also because it was the cheapest on offer for Manchester. However, it was like chalk and cheese. On a busy Saturday morning there appeared to be only two staff working, one of whom was a 'stand-in' who, in his own words, had drunk too much the previous night. We, together with others, had to wait around half an hour for a lift to the airport. On our return, we called on entering the baggage reclaim area and were told to call when we had all our luggage. This we did and were informed that we would have to wait whilst another group were driven back to the parking area. We then got a further call saying there would be a further 10-15 minute delay (at 2.30am) because a group needed to be checked in at the parking area. It would appear there was only one person working. So overall, not a particularly efficient operation.

I arrived at early morning, with no one on site, and gates open. After a phone call, I was told that the driver was on his way. After about 10 minutes, the driver did appear from his way from airport. He was robotic in attitude, and after taking details, made us wait for over half an hour when he was sorting some mistakes he has made in the parking lot. When I pointed out that I was getting late, he was down right rude, saying you are not late and it takes just 5 minutes to the airport (it doesn't). Of course we ended up in a rush and disbelief during the check-in process, having made plans to arrive well on time. Coming back, the driver was on time and courteous, but this was a small solice. The car was parked where it was not supposed to be, and getting in, it smelt of cigarette, with a big blob of cigarette ashes scattered on the passenger seat. I was in two minds to complain, but making sure, there were no holes on the seat, I left with a polite goodbye. Never again.

When we arrived at the car park, it was unattended with all the cars available to anybody who might choose to take one or more of them! There was a mobile number to ring to get a lift to the Airport. We accept this might not be a problem to most people however we don't have a mobile so it would have been very difficult to contact the given number, as there appeared to be no phone (even a pay phone) available to contact them on the site. A 12 seater turned up eventually and we were taken to the airport, and dropped off in front of terminal 1. On our return we contacted the given number and it was confirmed we would be collected at collection point D. We had some problem finding this but finally did. But even though we had taken time finding it there was no transport waiting for us. After waiting a short while we again contacted the mobile number and were told we should be on Row D in the short term car park not the normal designated pick up points positioned around the outer road going round that car park. We stood and waited and were finally collected by a white unmarked 12 seater van. On arrival at the car park we were given the keys with no security check in any shape or form and allowed to drive off. Our summary Security - poor, Pick up - very poor, Price - marginly lower than others, which was offset by having to make two phone calls to the collecting driver. Scope for improvement - Better (or any) security, Marking on collection vehicle to give confidence in the company, Alternative arrangements for contacting the van driver.
